Abe Sloan: WoodturnerAbe Sloan

It doesn't matter whether you're a wood turning newbie, an intermediate level turner (like myself), an old hand or just an aficionado of the craft.

The fact of the matter is, once turned wood gets under your skin, it's there to stay.

Hi, I'm Abe Sloan. I've created this site with the help of my daughter Andrea who has offered to do the bulk of the writing for me while I focus on the work that since retiring I have become passionate about.

This site will eventually be chock full of wood turning articles that cover things like:

   Wood turning projects
   Wood blanks for turning
   Pen blanks and pen turning
Wood bowl turning (my main area of interest)
   Wood turning techniques
   Wood turning supplies
   Wood turning tool selection
Wood turning lathes (perhaps even a history of the wood lathe)

Heck maybe even a wood turning forum!

And of course, the ever important turned wood gallery pages; at least for show-n-tell and even better if for the occasional sale :)

Well, you get the picture … I’m sure there will be more ideas as we go along here, but for now that ought to keep Andrea good and busy!

Give a shout if you should have anything that you’d like to see addressed on the site and definitely let us know if you’d like to see your name up in lights … articles by guest artists are most welcomed and will always include a live link thru to the site of your choice.

I am so glad to be able to share with you what I have learned and what I have made with this wonderful medium!
